OVERVIEW
- The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The client wanted to create a real-time parking information dashboard for drivers. The RTA Parking Guidance System (PGS) provides parking performance analytics and visualizations as well as administration functions.
- The parking/transport community creates insights from big data and provides comprehensive parking coverage. ​
- Dubai RTA was facing issues such as:
- Inefficient gathering of values from three main streams: parking management, parking awareness, and parking measurement.
- Lack of seamless integration and centralized management of parking data.
SOLUTION PROVIDED BY PEOPLE TECH GROUP
To overcome these challenges, People Tech developed an end-to-end client-server application using AngularJS as the front-end and MSSQL as the backend. The solution included the following key elements:
- Transmission of parking information through the RTA mobile application and dynamic message signs to provide real-time updates to motorists.
- Efficient parking planning and management capabilities for the RTA.
- Generation of reports from the parking dashboard to disseminate parking information to RTA internal employees.
- Integration of Cleverciti and Nedap sensors to gather real-time data on available and occupied parking spaces.
